From Judy Seely Kirk and John Kirk
June 27 2010 John retired from CSM (economics and much union work ---AFT) two years ago. I retired from Sequoia 5 years ago, where I moved from Redwood City School District after 27 years (teaching and admin.). We have a son in IT in Silicon Valley, married to a wonderful woman (marketing/PR in SF), living in San Carlos --- lovely for us. Our daughter is in politics (chief of staff of district office of Speaker of NY City Council) in Manhattan and lives in Brooklyn, a place we absolutely love! John's parents, 96 and 95, still live at home here in RC, play bridge, and stay busy. My mom is 90, living at her home and volunteering at the sr. center in RC; she just came back from a trip to NY with my sister and me. |

Ray and I married for 48 years this past July. After graduation he joined the Navy for 7 1/2 years. Was on a Nuclear Sub and then taught sub school in Idaho Falls. I attended 1 year of college in Chicago and we were married in 1962. Have 1 daughter and 1 son. 6 grandkids and a new great grandbaby girl as of this past July. After leaving the service we moved to San Jose and Ray worked for GE in the Nuclear field for 33 years. I worked for the Emporium for 18 years during that time. He retired , sold our home and moved into our summer cabin at Lake Almanor. Soon purchased another lot and built the home we are currently living in. No street lights, no side walks and no traffic lights in our little town. Just the stars at night. Ray's on the golf course as much as his back will let him, he shoots in the mid 70's. I prefer to work in the yard and cross stitch. Last year I had a triple by-pass and Ray is looking at neck surgery in the near furture. So looking forward to the reunion. Thanks to Leone and all who took the time to plan this special event. See you in a couple of days. |

| What an amazing website. I hope to stop by reunion for a quick visit on Saturday evening. I have my three sisters with me in San Francisco for a visit. One is my sister from France, we did not know we had until 12 years ago and we found each other two years ago. It is a wonderful story.I live on Whidbey Island in Washington six months and La Quinta CA for the warmer season. Richard and I have been married 18 years and have a wonderful combined family. My precious mom passed away this past April, which has been very hard. Memories of Taft until my junior year at Sequoia were all with her precious guidance and love.We opened a Sculpting Non-Profit studio a little over a year ago in La Quinta . I found sculpting two years ago, to be very helpful after my parents had to move from our home after 10 years into assisted living. And many of all ages and stages seem to love it too.www.oldtownartisanstudio.org Video makes me look 90 years old, but it helps me explain that I want the studio to remain even after I pass on (: I look forward to seeing many of you this coming weekend. I'm sorry to say that I will not be making the reunion this year. Had a prior commitment in Calif. a couple of weeks ago. I'm still living back East in Virginia which has become home for me, but still manage at least one trip a year to CA to see family. I wish everyone great fun at the reunion because I know lots of work goes into planning these events. I so enjoyed the 45th a few years ago. |

| I graduated from Knapp College of Nursing, Santa Barbara, in 1963. Have 2 sons and 4 grandsons.Traveled extensively with my Mom after my Dad's death and my divorce, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China, Central America. Maintained my nursing license (office, clinic, and hospital --my favorite!). Now have a small massage therapy practice to keep "in touch". Travel with my 'spousal equivalent', John, love to garden and enjoy my family. | |||

| "50 years" I still can't believe it! Thanks to Leone & all the committee for making this reunion possible!! I must say the website is amazing and I have been enjoying it thoroughly! Please sign the guest book as it is so much fun reading what everybody has been doing during these years after Sequoia!!My life since Sequoia and CSM has been great! I met a wonderful Paly guy, Rockney Hansen (also a 1960 graduate). We will attend his 50th class reunion in September. We have been married for 48 years and have 4 wonderful children, two girls, two boys. We have two beautiful grandchildren, a boy & a girl, who we love to spend time with and spoil rotten. We love to travel and have just returned home from Prague, the Czech Republic (beautiful place). We were there with our family attending our second son's amazing wedding. He has finally settled down with a special girl after all his years of modeling. He was male model of the year for 2002 in France. We are extremely proud of him, as we are of all our children. We now live in Reno, Nevada. We are enjoying life, family and friends. The reunion should be fun, looking forward to seeing everyone.P.S. I can relate to Nancy Turnrose Boone's comment on a husband with an antelope tag as my husband also has one and is very excited about his hunt, but luckily he is coming with me!! His reunion date is more conflicting with his hunt than mine! | |||

Let's see, what have I done since those great years at Sequoia. After graduation, I attended CSM and San Jose State, graduating in 1966. At SJS, I met the lovely Dianna Coney from Willow Glen High School, she became Mrs. Hernandez in 1968. I retired from the federal government in 1994, and we currently live in Centennial, Colorado, just outside Denver. We have three children, Kevin, a Golf Course Superintendent, Eric a Doctor and Kristy a Geo-Science Tech. We have two grand-sons, Jack, 4 and Kaiden 3 mos and our third is expected in February. Along the way, I continued my musical interests, doing Community Theater and singing in Choral groups. 30 years ago, I helped start a Theatrical group that does theater for the Physically and Mentally Disabled. "Magic Moments" continues productions to this day. While at Sequoia, I had a Dance Band "The Esquires." I know we played for at least one of our Reunion's either the 5th or the 10th or maybe both. The years have faded my memory. Does anyone out there remember?? See y'all at the 50th!! |
