Ray and I married for 48 years this past July. After graduation he joined the Navy for 7 1/2 years. Was on a Nuclear Sub and then taught sub school in Idaho Falls. I attended 1 year of college in Chicago and we were married in 1962. Have 1 daughter and 1 son. 6 grandkids and a new great grandbaby girl as of this past July. After leaving the service we moved to San Jose and Ray worked for GE in the Nuclear field for 33 years. I worked for the Emporium for 18 years during that time. He retired , sold our home and moved into our summer cabin at Lake Almanor. Soon purchased another lot and built the home we are currently living in. No street lights, no side walks and no traffic lights in our little town. Just the stars at night. Ray's on the golf course as much as his back will let him, he shoots in the mid 70's. I prefer to work in the yard and cross stitch. Last year I had a triple by-pass and Ray is looking at neck surgery in the near furture. So looking forward to the reunion. Thanks to Leone and all who took the time to plan this special event. See you in a couple of days.

Hello Sequoia High Classmates,

I had planned to attend the class reunion this year, but was not able to progress as far in my rehabilitation as I had hoped. I have made much progress since the badly failed bypass surgery of my left vertebral artery, but I am not quite ready for a trip of that magnitude at this time.

Back in April of 2007, I suffered a dissected left vertebral artery. I was flown by helicopter to Harborview hospital in Seattle and operated on 4 days later. As a result of the surgery, I was in a coma for 4 weeks and given little hope of recovery.  Little did they know that this little Sequoia had different ideas!

It’s now 3 and a half years later and I am now walking with my therapist (husband Dennis) about 500’ to 1000’ each day. I start therapy at 8:00 AM and, with the exception of a 1 hour nap, I finish at 5:30 PM. I have a semi-paralysis of my right hand and right leg. With therapy, I plan to regain full use of both. I have a lady named Rose work with me 3 hours a day, 5 days a week on cognitive and verbal skills. My speech improves daily as does my left handed art skills. I am fortunate to have her. The brain has an incredible ability to repair & rewire itself when given proper therapy.

Again, I will miss you all and am already looking forward to the 1015 reunion.

Just reading everyones comments made me want to say...  I am looking forward to seeing you all next month.   I am retired and living in my dream place,  Bishop.   My husband, Doug, of 45 years and I have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.  We are on the road a lot visiting them in either the Bay Area or LA.

  After graduation, I attended CSM and received my Associate of Arts degree in art, then attended San Jose State for one year befor deciding to enter the Army National Guard as a cook, to get my military oblijaton out of the way, before moving to San Francisco in 1963.
 I've had numerous jobs since moving here, including driving a Yellow Cab, selling insurance, moving and storage sales, and a custodian for the elementary school where our four children attended.
  I recently decided to quit the custodian  job to start my part time  tree trimming business.
  Since I love opera with a passion, the San Francisco Opera helps keep me here, and my wife doesn't want to move  with me to Redwood City.
  I am currently singing with the San Francisco City Chorus, and am a long time volunteer with The Friends of the Urban Forest, a Class of '60  reunion volunteer, and am currently a board member of our alumni association.
  The Sequoyah Statue Project is my current alumni association project, which you will hear about at the reunion.
  I can't wait to see everyone in August.

Hi all, looking forward to seeing you:I have been married for 43 years, to Bob who is also a grad. of Sequoia class 56.we have 3 childern, 2 boys an1 daughter .Bob is retired from Curtis creek school in  Tuolumne County. I however elect to still work. As an owner sytlist also in Sonora East.

As of this writing "Alive" 4/19/10 in San Jose, CA.  Sequence: Sequoia, Navy, Married 2 children...Retired "self employed"..1998. 3 heart attacks, 9 Alcohol Rehabs, Divorce (had it coming)...However I maintained a sliver of Faith & God Saved me from MySelf...I Regret My past & thoes I have hurt...I am ashamed, but now Greatful for the chance to live out my life the way God wants it !....I do admire all of you who Did It Right...Bless You...I knew YOU COULD way back then (1960)...Well, at the moment, I feel much better & releaved...to Fess Up to YOU, my classmates....Its not easy to admit to all...that "you failed"...However not all the time, but at times it mean the most....So NOW i look forward to a moment in time where by i may be of service to someone less fortunate and help them on thier way back TO LIFE. s/ Glenn

Right after grad in June of 1960, joined the USMC, was in for 131/5 yrs had to get out on and medical discharge from Vetnam, married to a wonder lady for 46 yrs. we had 5 children 4 boys and 1 girl, with 9 grand children and one great at the moment. live in utah at the moment. I am retired now and injoy it very much.
